These are the storyboards to my music video for 'Insomniac' by The Jubilees. They roughly display the planned shots for the video with transitions and sound. A set of neater and more accurately illustrated storyboards are planned for later in the process, though this set of shots will be used for filming.
Super story boards Jack, you may wish to do a concept board as well, but thus far your planning is interesting and confident. During the shoot keep an eye on lighting. Werner Herzog's horror film "Nosferatu, the Vampyre" (1979) has some brilliant shots of the vampire with only his face/skull lit - like a bodiless creature. Lighting would be a key element in reinforcing the illusory/nightmarish quality of your production.
ReplyDeleteThe feature film, biopic of Ian Curtis "Control" should be splendidly helpful for inspiration camera shots and angles. I'm not sure it was alcohol that fuelled Curtis' depression, probably to quote aspects of his lyrics which were according to Wikipedia "Curtis's writing was filled with imagery of emotional isolation, death, alienation, and urban decay". Probably early fame, the effects of epilepsy on his health and his floundering marriage led him to suicide.
